Private Wealth Management Case Study

Client background: The Private Wealth Management division of a regional bank approached Copal in order to improve its client presentations and free executive time to spend on helping grow business by servicing existing and new clients. In addition, the bank sought support to cost effectively increase due diligence on asset managers prior to recommending these to its clients.

Service Offerings: Copal assigned a dedicated team of 10 professionals (one onshore and nine offshore). The team’s main tasks were defined as:

  • Preparing client universe studies including ongoing updates on new liquidity events

  • Creating client presentations and marketing materials

  • Conducting due diligence on hedge funds, PE funds and fund-of funds including stock selection, track record and monitoring surveillance.

Results: The client’s dedicated Copal team has enabled the client to improve its utilization of resources, allowing it to focus more attention on client management and new business development using customized client presentations prepared to investment banking standards. In addition, the client has been able to significantly improve its due diligence process for its various asset managers across all fund structures on a highly cost-effective basis.
